1. Proposed Sewerage Treatment Plant in King George Vth (KGV) Playing Fields

A Planning Proposal was recently submitted by the Nightingale Close Housing Developer to locate and build a Sewerage Treatment Plant in part of KGV Playing Fields. There were almost 100 public objections to this proposal as the Fields are held in trust in perpetuity for the benefit of the Community to be used for leisure purposes only. It is pleasing to report that the Developers have now withdrawn this Planning Application and it is understood that the plant will now be built within the confines of the Nightingale Close Development site.

2. Sherford New Town -Expected New Planning Application

In late 2017 we learnt that the existing Sherford Plans for dealing with potential flood conditions would not meet the current Environment Agency requirements which have become more stringent since the original Sherford plans were approved. The Sherford Consortium of Housebuilders are required to meet the current requirements and have consequently prepared revised plans in order to achieve the current standards. The Consortium held a Consultation event with the public in late 2017 to explain their ideas and to seek comments from the public.  The Consortium has submitted a Planning Application to South Hams (not to Plymouth City Council as it does not affect the area of Sherford that sits in the Plymouth Boundary)  to incorporate their revised plans to meet the new requirements.
